Trees, Streets & Garden Suburbs with Trees for Tenters
Trees for Tenters
For Culture Date with Dublin 8 this year, local volunteer groups, D8 Green Bridge Forum and Trees for Tenters, are teaming up to bring you two late spring evening walks and talks, exploring neighbourhoods shaped by the early 20th-century idea of the garden suburb — a vision of city living that combined well-designed housing with gardens, tree-lined streets and shared green spaces.
Both groups are passionate about the health and wellbeing benefits of publicly accessible green spaces in urban areas. They are also keenly aware of the importance of supporting the ecosystem by planting native trees and plants to enhance biodiversity.
Each walk will focus on biodiversity, heritage and climate, sharing local and specialised knowledge and inviting participants to discuss ideas for creating a more sustainable city for us all.
