Gallery Zozimus Presents: Abstract Positions – A Dialogue with Colour and Form

Gallery Zozimus, Francis Street

Four artists. Four approaches. One exploration of abstraction.

Gallery Zozimus in Dublin presents Abstract Positions, a group exhibition bringing together artists Clare O'Connor, Lena Sinclair, Catherine Taaffe Haughton, and Ann Maria Bridges. This exhibition considers abstraction as a field of diverse and evolving practices, where each artist occupies a distinct position shaped by their individual processes, influences, and material choices.

At the core of Abstract Positions is a shared commitment to thoughtful, considered making. While united by a non-representational approach, the artists diverge in how they engage with colour, form, and surface. Some works emerge through intuitive and gestural processes, while others are carefully constructed, balancing structure with subtle shifts in tone and composition. This interplay creates a rich visual conversation across the exhibition.

Rather than presenting abstraction as a fixed or singular style, the exhibition opens it up as a space for dialogue. Each body of work invites the viewer to pause and engage more deeply, responding not to recognisable imagery, but to rhythm, tension, harmony, and movement. In doing so, the exhibition highlights the emotional and intellectual possibilities of abstract art, where meaning is not prescribed but discovered.

Abstract Positions offers collectors and audiences alike an opportunity to engage with the diversity of contemporary abstraction in an intimate gallery setting. With an emphasis on quality, originality, and thoughtful execution, the exhibition highlights artists whose practices continue to evolve while maintaining a clear and compelling identity.

The show runs until 14th May 2026.
