Songlines of The City Musical Walking Tour with An Góilín Traditional Singers (Sunday Tour)
Highlights at Tailor's Hall, Werburgh Street and St Patrick's Park
Join one of Dublin's longest standing social and singing gatherings for a walking tour of Dublin 8. With Dublin 8 bursting with song, a small selection from the ballads of the area will be sung in the places of their making, or as close we can gather next to it. It's a unique thing to hear the song in it's natural environs, so come and join us for a truly Dublin experience.
An Góilín Traditional Singers is a long-running weekly gathering dedicated to traditional unaccompanied singing; founded in 1979 to create a welcoming space for both singers and listeners of traditional songs. Held most Friday nights (except during the summer) at the Teachers’ Club in Parnell Square, it is an open, inclusive session—not a formal club—with no membership required.
Two different walking tours will take place for Culture Date with Dublin 8, exploring the areas around and within The Liberties.
This tour will take place on Sunday 10th May from 11am and will take you from Tailor's Hall, Werburgh Street and St Patrick's Park. Book this tour here.
Another tour takes place earlier in the week on Wednesday 6th May at 7pm and will feature the Coombe, Pimlico and St Catherines Church. See separate listing.
