The Lags, Just Eoghan, Beatrice [BIMM Showcase]

at Nancy Hands

Settle in for a late-night session as Late in D8 continues with a special BIMM showcase at Nancy Hands on Friday 8 May. Starting at 10.30pm, this intimate gig brings together three emerging artists from BIMM Dublin, each offering their own take on contemporary folk and acoustic sound, right in the heart of Dublin 8.

Leading the line-up are The Lags, a trio reworking traditional folk through a bold, high-energy lens. Blending rich vocal harmonies with banjo and guitar, they bring a raw, punk-tinged edge to both classic and lesser-known tunes. Since their debut in 2024, they’ve quickly built momentum on the live circuit, with festival appearances and standout showcases, and are now working towards new material following their debut release Hares on the Mountain.

Also on the bill is Just Eoghan, a folk singer-songwriter whose warm, reflective sound draws from artists like Gordon Lightfoot and Fleet Foxes. His stripped-back performances create an intimate atmosphere, with lyrics often described as poetic and quietly transportive.

Completing the line-up is Beatrice, an Italian-born vocalist and guitarist currently studying at BIMM. Blending elements of folk, pop, funk and jazz, her sound is exploratory and fluid, moving between reimagined covers and original material that reflects her evolving musical identity.

A perfect way to experience the energy of Late in D8 up close—live music, emerging voices, and a room full of atmosphere in one of Dublin 8’s much-loved venues.

I’m Beatrice. I’m a vocalist and guitarist from Italy. I love exploring different genres and finding what feels true to me—mixing touches of folk, pop, funk, and jazz into my covers and my own songs to make them fresh and unique. I enjoy reworking covers, bringing new arrangements to life that are catchy and personal. I’m currently studying at BIMM and still experimenting with my sound, discovering what my final musical identity will be.
