Dublin Gallery Weekend in Dublin 8
Dublin Gallery Weekend is a citywide celebration of contemporary visual art, taking place from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 November 2025. Over one dynamic weekend, galleries, museums, and creative spaces across Dublin open their doors to showcase the best of Irish and international art, from provocative new work by emerging voices to major exhibitions by celebrated artists. With over 100 artists featured across the city, it’s a weekend of exhibitions, talks, performances, and encounters designed to inspire and connect.
Here at CDD8, we’re shining a light on what’s happening in Dublin 8. From the grand halls of IMMA and the industrial heritage of the Guinness Storehouse to the contemporary energy of Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin 8 is at the heart of this year’s creative celebrations.
At IMMA, the internationally renowned artist and poet Cecilia Vicuña presents Reverse Migration, a Poetic Journey, her first solo exhibition in Ireland, tracing themes of ancestry, ecology, and interconnectedness. To mark the opening, join her for a special evening of readings and performance on Thursday 6 November (17.00–18.00) in The Chapel at IMMA. Admission free, booking required on imma.ie
At the Guinness Storehouse, These Walls: Landmarks brings together artists Hazel O’Sullivan and Niall de Buitléar in a striking reflection on the legacy of the ROSC exhibitions that once redefined Irish art at the Guinness Hopstore. Don’t miss Rising Conversations: These Walls on Friday 7 November (08.00) a breakfast panel featuring the artists alongside IMMA Director Annie Fletcher and Guinness Archivist Eibhlin Colgan, moderated by Michael McDermott. Get tickets here.
Meanwhile, at Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, acclaimed artist Geraldine O’Neill unveils Flicker, Flicker, a deeply layered meditation on humanity’s fragile relationship with nature and time. Throughout the weekend, enjoy an artist coffee morning (Sat 8 Nov, 11.00), book signings with Deirdre Frost and Cecilia Danell (Sat 8 Nov, 15.00), and an in-conversation event with O’Neill and Dr Yvonne Scott (Sun 9 Nov, 14.00). Free, no booking required. Read more here.
Dublin 8 stands at the heart of the city’s creative pulse where heritage meets experimentation, and art transforms familiar spaces into sites of wonder. Join us this November to experience it all.
