Chats in the Flats Screening – Proudly Supported by Donore Credit Union

Donore Credit Union is delighted to host a special community screening of Chats in the Flats, a new online video archive available on the ‘Chats in the Flats’ social media channels created by Richie Power that documents the voices, memories and experiences of the working-class community in Dublin 8.

The project shines a light on the rich culture and unique stories of the Liberties, featuring conversations and performances from people connected to the area. Episodes released so far include appearances by comedian Willa White, musician Ciaran Moran, Brian Brannigan, frontman of the band A Lazarus Soul and Anita Reilly, known from the Virgin Media programme Gogglebox.

The videos explore themes such as childhood memories of growing up in the flats, the sense of community in the area and the changes brought about by urban regeneration and rising housing costs.
Supported by Donore Credit Union, Chats in the Flats aims to preserve and celebrate the voices of a community whose stories are often overlooked.
