Thomas Street: History in images Local History Lecture with Mark Jenkins

Step into the story of one of the city’s most historic streets with Mark Jenkins in this illustrated talk. Journey through the street’s origins and discover the remarkable buildings, characters, and hidden stories that have shaped Thomas Street across the centuries.

The talk also weaves in this year’s Culture Date With Dublin 8 theme, “Songlines of the City,” exploring how the memories and spirit have inspired and been captured in the songs of the many artists connected to the street and Liberties area.

Mark Jenkins is a Liberties local historian and has presented several talks and walks for the festival over the years. He has contributed to published collections on Dublin history and runs the popular Facebook page "Ireland Old and New", with over 145k followers across social media platforms.
