The Narrow Gate of the Here-and-Now
IMMA presents the first chapter of The Narrow Gate of the Here-and-Now, IMMA: 30 Years of the Global Contemporary, a new Museum-wide exhibition showcasing the IMMA Collection to celebrate 30 years of IMMA.
Join us for a tour of the magnificent formal gardens and meadows, exploring the flora and fauna of IMMA and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
This summer IMMA has launched their outdoor programme; IMMA Outdoors, an extensive outdoor programme that turns the museum inside out, inviting you to discover the magnificent grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. From dazzling artist commissions and intimate courtyard concerts, to tours and workshops, there is something for everyone. Visit their pop-up shop and cafés and enjoy a safe, free and inspiring day out.
During the summer IMMA Outdoors will open late on Wednesday evenings until 8.30pm, until 1st September with music, events, café and pop-up shop.
Print Making Workshop
Learn about the various processes of printmaking in this upcoming workshop led by Bryan Hogan and Domnick Sorace from IMMA’s Visitor Engagement Team. During these workshops you will explore the possibilities of print through the process of linocut.
IMMA Outdoors Highlights
Highlights to check out at IMMA Outdoors include the latest evolution of Club Chroma Chlorologia by Niall Sweeney in the Formal Gardens; Poetry Speaks in the Garden House; newly designed social distanced spaces by Y O U N G F O S S I L; and Ping Pong Diplomacy by Mark Clare, an installation of ping pong tables that takes a bit more than skill to use.
Join Paola Catizone for a yoga and movement session at the Front Lawn Pavilion. Enjoy easing your tensions away while relaxing in the beautiful grounds of the RHK. These classes will suit both beginners and more experienced participants.
Family Workshop Mornings at The Museum
Enjoy some creative family time in the beautiful grounds of IMMA with its’ stunning formal gardens and butterfly filled meadows. Based on artworks from the IMMA Collection, children and parents can discover their inner artist while having fun and creating amazing masterpieces. Led by the visitor engagement team this is a wonderful family experience.
