For anyone who has a burning passion for poetry and wants to perform or just soak in the words of local poets. We welcome poets and performers of all skill levels, whether you’re a seasoned writer or just taking your first steps into the written word! Regardless of whether you want to perform or not, we’ll be providing a warm and cosy space for you to relax and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and nibbles as the night goes on.

At Books at One, we are more than simply a place to buy books - we are a social, cultural and creative hub for people of all ages to come together through stories. A social enterprise intentionally situated in areas of social disadvantage and rural isolation, Books at One encompasses a network of local bookshops that transform the act of reading into a powerful tool for community connection. Whether browsing the shelves, participating in a community workshop or event, or chatting with our friendly and dedicated local staff members, every visitor to Books at One can feel the sense of community woven throughout each of our shops.
