a walk and talk with the D8 Green Bridge Forum

Saturday 11 May 10.30am

Sold out

Location Iveagh Markets, Francis Street, Dublin 8

As part of Culture Date for Dublin 8 2024, the D8 Green Bridge Forum members are delighted to host Free to Roam, a walk and talk around the green spaces of the Liberties with guest speakers for approximately two hours.

Meeting at the Iveagh Markets, Free to Roam will gift you a local map and invite you to explore the Liberties heritage, green spaces and public realm, including the greening of streetscapes, and the foundation of new public gardens, like Bridgefoot Street Park and Weaver Park. We’ll be delving into hidden histories and community growing, stopping by a graveyard, a distillery, allotments, and even a 160 year-old pear tree.

The D8 Green Bridge forum (D8GBF) is an active forum that values and supports access to and the development of quality public green and blue spaces in order to progress connectivity and community well-being across Dublin 8. The forum emerged out of the recommendations of Mapping Green Dublin (2019 – 2021) a collaborative action research project led by UCD’s School of Geography in collaboration with arts organisation Common Ground and artist Seoidín O’Sullivan.

Common Ground is an arts development organisation based in Inchicore that supports the D8GBF for more information or to get involved email at info@commonground.ie
