And That's A Wrap!

Thank You to all who came to our events over the Culture Date with Dublin 8 weekend. We hope you enjoyed the tours, exhibitions, performances and all that was on offer in your local neighbourhood in D8.

Big thanks to our sponsors for making all of this happen - Dublin City Council, Fáilte Ireland, Richmond Barracks, Glasnevin Trust, IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art and the OPW - Office of Public Works. It is fantastic to see these institutions coming together to support this initiative and its growth and development, helping to put Dublin 8 on the map as a unique, sought-after, cultural destination and a great place to live, work and enjoy.

We would also like to thank Waterways Ireland for sponsoring the Pat Liddy Tours about The Grand Canal. Pat is a great storyteller and really brought its rich history to life. Thanks to our local historians Liz Gillis, Mark Jenkins, Liam O'Meara, Maeve Casserly and Cathy Scuffil, who contributed to our blog with lots of interesting tales and local history.

There are so many incredible institutions and sites within walking distance of one another in Kilmainham and Inchicore and we hope that Culture Date with Dublin 8 encourages you to engage with these institutions throughout the year- after all, they are Your institutions, paid by the tax payer, their amenities and facilities belong to you!

Don't forget Culture Date with Dublin 8 have a year-long programme of events that are taking place across the year. So you will be hearing from us again soon.

For now, we'll leave you with some snapshots we took from the weekend.
