Programme Highlights - Non-ticketed Activities over the Culture Date with Dublin 8 weekend
Although we will be releasing more tickets shortly for our Culture Date with Dublin 8 events, we wanted to share with you what activities are available that don't require any ticket booking at all over the weekend which you can enjoy at your own leisure.
Take the Dublin Discovery Trails Echoes of War Audio Tour
This audio tour guides you around Kilmainham and it's surrounding parklands to discover moving stories of war and rebellion around every corner of this peaceful place. The trail is part of the Dublin Discovery Trails app, and it can be downloaded free from the App Store and the Google Play Store. If you try the link www.dublindiscoverytrails.com it should redirect you to the section of the website with information about the trails and the app.

Explore the Gardens at IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art with the Self Guided Garden Tour with Plant and Tree Trails

Explore the IMMA gardens with a self-guided walking trail. Discover the 15 wild plants and flowers that grow in the grounds of IMMA in the PLANT TRAIL (pdf), and learn about the many trees on site in the TREE TRAIL (pdf), developed with artist Seoidín O’Sullivan. You can pick up the guide’s from IMMA’s main reception or download the guides by clicking on the links above.
Pick up an IMMA Explorer Family Activity Pack
Pick up a Family Activity Pack and explore IMMA at your own pace. Families can use this map together to find out about the artworks that are outdoors in IMMA’s grounds, and children can engage with IMMA’s building, garden and galleries using the IMMA Explorer activity booklet. IMMA EXPLORER Activity Packs are available from the front reception desk at IMMA.
Visit the IMMA Collection Exhibitions & The 38th EVA International at IMMA

IMMA is home to the National Collection of modern and contemporary art, showcasing work dating from the 1940s onwards. There are 5 separate exhibitions at IMMA that do not require any ticket booking over the Culture Date with Dublin 8 weekend. There are 4 exhibitions from the IMMA Collection which are: Coastlines, Hennessy Art Fund 2018, Brian O'Doherty - Language and Space and Lennon - Porous Plane. During this weekend IMMA will also be hosting an exhibition as part of The 38th EVA International. This exhibition at IMMA features works by contemporary artists exploring the politics of communication. You can read more about this exhibition and the exhibiting artists here.
Drop in to the Family Workshop: Explorer at IMMA, 2- 4pm, Sunday 20th May
Get creative together as a family and explore artworks with IMMA staff, with this hands-on workshop in the galleries. Explorer is a fun way to explore and learn about art.
