OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF CULTURE DATE WITH DUBLIN 8
Culture Date with Dublin 8 was officially launched in Richmond Barracks at a special event yesterday Wednesday 26th April.
We were greeted by the sunshine and had a wonderful morning to officially launch Culture Date with Dublin 8. Our proceedings kicked off with a short introduction about the project by Eadaoin Ní Chleirigh of Richmond Barracks, following that we were joined by writer Frank McNally who shared with us his experience of the area and what inspires him the most about Dublin 8. Actor, Jim Roche also shared a short performance of his renowned portrayal of Padraig Pearse during the ‘Remembering the Rising’ 2016 celebrations, and local musicians recited two beautiful traditional songs to officially open the event. We were also joined by St James’s Brass Band and local school children from Our Lady of Lourdes School in Inchicore who dressed in traditional attire for our creative photoshoot - capturing the life and times of the people of Dublin 8.
Check out some of our photos from the morning’s event.
Thanks to Marc O'Sullivan who did our photography on the day.
