IMMA - IRISH MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

Visit Exhibitions for free at IMMA

Over the festival weekend there are four exhibitions to visit at IMMA.
Irish Gothic explores the work of one of Ireland’s most accomplished artists, Patricia Hurl.
Championing Irish Art from the Mary and Alan Hobart Collection featuring the work of prominent Irish artists including Jack B. Yeats, John Lavery, William Orpen & Mary Swanzy.
Scene of the Myth an expansive solo exhibition of the work of Sarah Pierce, featuring performances, videos, installations, and archives.
Unseeing Traces in collaboration with New Communities Partnership presents artefacts from the Kingdom of Kongo to explore displacement, colonialism, race and representation.

There will also be speciality guided tours of Irish Gothic at 2.30pm both days (meet at IMMA reception)

LEGO Hunt - featuring significant Irish figures from the library's past

Marsh's Library is happy to welcome visitors to participate in its Irish Writers themed Lego Hunt! Track down James Joyce, Bram Stoker and many more as you browse through the bays of Ireland's first public library. Staff will be available to tell you stories of the famous readers, book theft and Maurice the Mummy. All ages are welcome!

Guided Tours available throughout the weekend. Learn about the medieval history of Dublin, and the medieval architecture of St. Audoen’s.

Join St George’s Brass Band for an afternoon of musical entertainment in the park featuring some classics, music from the movies and some popular favourites.

We Love Markets at The Digital Hub are thrilled to be a part of the Culture Date with Dublin 8 programme this year. The Market will host up to 50 eclectic stalls, showcasing a mixture of local design and locally made artisan food, homemade crafts, clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac, vintage wares, artisan goods and plenty of hidden gems.
The market will support local enterprises, organisations, designers and creatives in Dublin 8.
PERFORMANCE
Dublin 8 based drumming school MaSamba Samba will feature with a pop up performance in the afternoon.
RICHMOND BARRACKS
Teddy Bear Picnic in the Garden

Join us for a picnic in Richmond Barracks on Saturday the 13th of May from 12:30-3 pm. Bring your sambos and your picnic blanket and chill out in the beautiful surroundings of the Richmond Barracks garden.
We'll be starting at 12.30 pm with a Teddy Bear's Picnic with Inchicore Library (make sure to bring your teddy!) Then afterwards we will be relaxing, playing some games, having some music and serving tea, orange squash and buns. We look forward to seeing you! (please note the picnic is weather dependent and won't take place if it is raining)

IRISH NATIONAL WAR MEMORIAL GARDENS

Guided Visit of The Irish National War Memorial Gardens

Meeting point in the car park nearest the edge of the formal gardens.
Duration: approx 1 hr
Enjoy the historic sunken rose gardens, herbaceous borders and extensive tree-planting with staff of OPW. Hear the history of this Sir Edward Lutyens designed commemorative garden with architectural features. Picturesque setting on the south bank of the River Liffey at Islandbridge.
The Trinity Regatta will also be viewable from the gardens on Saturday 13th May from 7am - 6pm

Hailing from the de facto beautiful Swiss capital of Bern, Sassy J has a colourful and charming sound informed by her simple and honest love of music and emotion. She runs her own Patchwork night, does the art for each party and has a passion for sewing one off pieces of clothing that marry many different textures and styles in compelling ways, much like when she mixes records.
Fintan Warfield

Fintan is a Dublin based singer, guitar and violin player. He is first and foremost a performer of Irish ballads, while his wider repertoire spans folk, country along with modern and contemporary pop. Fintan's performances and playlist epitomise the spirit of diversity in All My Friends.
